Turtles Level Classes - for school-aged children who are 5 years old (or have completed our Duckling Level Classes.

Equal to stages 1 & 2

Our Turtles programme is an excellent way for children aged 5 and above to develop water confidence, learn valuable swimming skills, and make new friends. Our classes are designed to be engaging and effective, with a maximum of six children per class to ensure that each child receives individual attention from the instructor. Our fully qualified swimming teachers are in the water at all times during the lessons.

Our program is divided into three stages, catering to children who are five years and older (or those who have met all the Duckling criteria.) The first stage of the program focuses on developing water confidence and comfort. The teacher gradually introduces basic swimming techniques, ensuring that each child develops correct technique and is able to swim unaided and unsupported on both their front and back.

In addition to swimming skills, our swimmers will also learn valuable complementary skills such as ball handling, diving, and self-rescue techniques in the water. Our program is designed to be fun and engaging, so your child will look forward to each class and learn important skills at the same time.

We believe that enrolling your child in our Turtles program is an investment in their health and well-being. Not only will they learn valuable swimming skills, but they will also develop water confidence and make new friends.

Swim School Rules

  • Appropriate Swim Wear

Please ensure your child attends lessons wearing appropriate swimwear.

Swim shorts that are below the knee and bikinis are not allowed and may result in your child being unable to participate in lessons

  • Changing Room Use

Please note that once children are aged 8+ they must use the correct gender-changing area, even if this means they are unaccompanied in the changing area.

We request that when assisting small children parents should use the correct gender-changing area for the adult, not the child. At some of our venues the changing facilities are also used by adults either before or after our lessons.

  • Swim hats & goggles

Swim hats are compulsary for all children aged 3+ years old. You could choose to use the swim hat from your joining pack or an alternative.  This is to aid in providing a hygienic swimming environment and to keep hair out of children's faces.

If your child would like to wear goggles they are welcome to do so. Most children in Neptune Swim School do choose to wear goggles.

Goggles and swim hats approved by the Neptune team can be purhased from Neptune Swim Shop and delivered to lessons.

  • Photography

All photography during swimming lessons is strictly prohibited.

If your child has a class teddy or homework that requires a photo of them at swimming, please contact the class teacher at the start of the lessons and we will arrange for a photo to be taken in a quiet section of the pool.

  • Sickness Policy

We politely ask all customers to refrain from bringing their children to swimming lessons if they have had sickness and or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours.

Children with chickenpox are only permitted to swim once all the spots have dried up.
