Hi I'm Steph, Director of Aquatics here at Neptune Aquatics. I manage and coordinate all things swimming for Team Neptune!

Welcome to Neptune Aquatics Swim School!

We offer both group and Private Lessons swimming lessons for 40 weeks every year, aligning with the school terms. We strive to create a calm and relaxed environment for your child to feel happy whilst having lots of fun during the class.

At Neptune Aquatics, we understand the importance of catering to each child's individual needs. With a maximum of just 6 children in each class, our experienced instructors can give your child the attention they need to develop their swimming ability. We focus on a natural progression of swimming skills, ensuring that your child is pushed forward whilst still feeling comfortable and confident in the water.

We welcome children from age 3 upwards and pride ourselves on being inclusive for children with additional needs. Children will be placed in a class based on their age and ability, with swimming lessons available for beginners right through to advanced swimmers.

Aquatic Skills Program

Our Aquatic Skills Program is an ‘all-inclusive’ program which takes Neptune's young swimmers from their first splash right through to becoming confident, competent swimmers who are immersed in a whole range of aquatic skills including:

  • Competition standard swimming
  • Ball handling skills – useful for sports such a water polo
  • Advance sculling techniques
  • Lifesaving skills – Used for both personal safety around water but also to ensure water safety of other around water
  • Diving skills

Our Aquatic Skills Program is different as it helps children to develop multiple aquatic skills, not simply swimming. Swimmers who complete our program learn the skills they need to take part in a variety of different water sports enabling them to branch out from swimming for fitness or recreation.

Every child on the program is continually assessed throughout the year, using our computerised grading system. Each swimmer will progress though the Aquatic Skills Program at a rate that is individual to them. Swimmers will move to the next level of the program once they have completed all the skills for the previous stage.

Swim School Rules

  • Appropriate Swim Wear

Please ensure your child attends lessons wearing appropriate swimwear.

Swim shorts that are below the knee and bikinis are not allowed and may result in your child being unable to participate in lessons

  • Changing Room Use

Please note that once children are aged 8+ they must use the correct gender-changing area, even if this means they are unaccompanied in the changing area.

We request that when assisting small children parents should use the correct gender-changing area for the adult, not the child. At some of our venues the changing facilities are also used by adults either before or after our lessons.

  • Swim hats & goggles

Swim hats are compulsary for all children aged 3+ years old. You could choose to use the swim hat from your joining pack or an alternative.  This is to aid in providing a hygienic swimming environment and to keep hair out of children's faces.

If your child would like to wear goggles they are welcome to do so. Most children in Neptune Swim School do choose to wear goggles.

Goggles and swim hats approved by the Neptune team can be purhased from Neptune Swim Shop and delivered to lessons.

  • Photography

All photography during swimming lessons is strictly prohibited.

If your child has a class teddy or homework that requires a photo of them at swimming, please contact the class teacher at the start of the lessons and we will arrange for a photo to be taken in a quiet section of the pool.

  • Sickness Policy

We politely ask all customers to refrain from bringing their children to swimming lessons if they have had sickness and or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours.

Children with chickenpox are only permitted to swim once all the spots have dried up.
